With 12 cooking functions, the Cosori Air Fryer Toaster Oven is an excellent option for the home cook whose number one priority is versatility. It has a temperature range of 80 to 450 degrees, allowing it to cook in a variety of ways. Some settings, such as Dehydrate and Ferment, may only appeal to some users, but most functions are the essentials you’d want in a toaster oven. It’s also connected to the VeSync app, so you can monitor cooking on your phone and receive alerts when the oven is preheated or cooking is finished.
During testing, we found that this model ran about 10 degrees hotter than other ovens, so we had to adjust our cooking times and temperatures a bit. However, once we did, the Cosori was excellent at toasting, baking, roasting, broiling and reheating. It was especially impressive as an air fryer, taking just 12 minutes to make frozen french fries with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior and 18 minutes for chicken wings that were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

It has the same backlit LCD display and knob controls, too, so adjusting the functions, temperature and time settings is straightforward.
The oven offers 13 cooking functions, including settings for proofing dough, making cookies, slow cooking and dehydrating. We were especially big fans of its air-frying function, which allowed us to make deliciously crispy french fries in just 13 minutes. The cookie function also worked well, turning store-bought cookie dough into cookies that had crispy edges with a slightly soft center in just 11 minutes.
The main difference between the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro and the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is its Wi-Fi connectivity. It can link to the Breville+ app, which not only sends an alert when the oven is preheated or your food has finished cooking but also provides access to over a thousand recipes. Before you buy, check the exterior dimensions of the toaster oven. Not every kitchen has a lot of open counter space. Fortunately, compact, midsize and large toaster ovens are available.

How easy is it to see inside the toaster oven to check on your food? Most of these appliances have a broad glass window that lets you view your food’s progress. But keep in mind that the glass may cloud with use over time, especially if the toaster oven is a lower-quality product.
