I brought the Mini Shot 3 with me on a trip to Mexico earlier this year, and it was perfect for snapping quick shots around the beach and markets. However, I made the rookie mistake of not charging it before a day-trip, and its battery life gave out after printing a few shots. Fortunately, that's where its dual capability really shines: Once I recharged the camera, I was able to print several photos from the day directly from my phone.
On a full charge, the camera can produce about 20-25 prints, and it takes roughly 90 minutes to recharge. During testing, I found that to be plenty for a casual day of shooting, although battery life can vary depending on how often you're printing.
The cost-effectiveness of the Mini Shot 3's print cartridges is another advantage. A 30-print pack costs about $28.99, which costs about 97 cents per photo. It's more affordable per print than Instax or Polaroid too. For frequent printers, those savings can add up quickly.
